Nitrile rubber is a synthetic rubber copolymer of butadiene and acrylonitrile . NDS-Seals refers to nitrile rubber as NBR. Other common designations of this elastomer are Perbunan, Buna-N or acrylonitrile butadiene rubber. Main industries utilizing this type of rubber are the general engineering, oil & gas, automotive and aeronautical industries. This is due to the fact that nitrile is capable of withstanding temperatures ranging from -40°C up to 108°C (-40 °F to 226 °F).
