DESIGN PROCESS

When designing new products, we go through a structured design process.

• INVESTIGATION PHASE
  In the investigation phase we investigate the exact demands for the new product.

• CONCEPT DESIGN
  During the Concept design phase ideas are devised that comply with these demands.

• DETAIL DESIGN
  The final concept is worked out completely using 3D-CAD software in the Detail design phase.

• SAMPLE PRODUCTION
  In the sample production phase a sample is manufactured, then tested and evaluated thoroughly and updated where necessary.
  
  

The result is a product that meets the customer and market demands and is optimized for production.

Of course it is also possible for us to only perform parts of the design process whenever our customers want to keep other parts of the process in their own hands.

Investigation phase

In the Investigation phase, we want to get a clear view of the product, the application and the way of assembly.

We examine how the product is actually used and which aspects are important in this usage.

During this phase we draw up the first idea's to get a better view on the problems involved.

The investigation results in a plan in which we, in consultation with our customer, determine the required product characteristics.

Concept design phase

In the Concept design phase, we invent idea's for each important aspect of the product.
Ideas on subjects like Design, Functionality, Construction, Assembly, etc…

These ideas are combined into several complete concepts of the product.

Together with our customer, we choose a design direction and put together the final concept. We then make a first cost price estimate for the product and the tooling.

Detail design phase

In the Detail design phase, the final concept is further elaborated upon.
Using CAD software, the main shape, shape details and the functionality is designed and recorded into a 3D model.

Material, production techniques and dimensioning are determined in deliberation with raw material suppliers. The cost price of the product is closely monitored and checked whether the design meets all demands.

The 3D model is used to generate a 2D technical drawing. In this drawing, the dimensions and relevant specifications of the part is noted.

Sample production phase

In the Sample production phase, a sample is made that gives a good impression of the final product. The sample can be tested thoroughly and evaluated whether the product meets all demands.

The resulting points of attention are updated in the design. Then the technical drawing is finalized for production.

Together with the customer, we monitor the production of tooling and the start up of the production.

We can also take care of the packaging design, product manuals and other documentation.
